Black and White (0:00-1:06) Seven o’clock in the morning Wake up to the banshee’s scream I don’t know why Until I get the call “It’s not going very well, what if we need to end the pain? What if we need to end the pain?” Then I guess it’s all just black and white. Apology (1:06-9:42) I saw you in a dream last night Face upturned – a pleading look in your eye I thought I saw you start to cry I left you there I should have brought you here. Thirteen years – never separated When I left you sat with breath baited I never showed – you still waited I left you there I should have brought you here I wanted to send an apology Now you are free Sent a message before you went Didn’t get a word you sent I saw you in a dream last night You tried to say something wasn’t right I did what I could to ease your plight I left you there I should have brought you here You are free to run and laugh at last You can’t move on if I’m haunted with the past I still can’t believe you’ve stepped from my grasp I left you there I should have brought you here And there’s always a chance We’ll meet on the bridge And there’s always a chance We’ll walk again through a park And there’s always a chance That we’ll run and laugh again But no matter how many times I walk through this door I won’t see you anymore I saw you in a dream last night Wish I could see you with my own eyes I promise I won’t leave you this time I would bring you here I would not leave you there Tears (instrumental) (9:42-11:26) Cry (11:26-12:51) I cry – knowing I left you I cry – knowing I failed you You waited for me by the door Thought I couldn’t stay away anymore I cry – knowing I left you I cry – knowing I failed you You tried to call me home again But I couldn’t make it before the end I cry – knowing I failed you I’ll die – knowing I killed you You waited for me by the door Until you just couldn’t wait anymore Nine Days (12:51-14:49) Nine days before I came home You waited all alone Nine days before my return You could not wait anymore Nine days before I came home You knew you had to move on Nine days before my return It was time to end the hurt

about

I chose to go with a classical-style suite. The songs were written individually and I still think of them as individual songs, but they were written to flow together.

Originally written about the unexpected death of a family member, the demos I recorded in my basement kept resurfacing after Dad died on January 28, 2021.

Obviously, those pesky little ghosts that keep following me around were trying to tell me something. So I called the one guy I can always count on for (im)moral support.

The tracks were re-recorded in less than 2 weeks. Vocals were recorded in less than 2 hours about a week later.

After a brief setback (because of COURSE there was...) and maybe a guitarist being just a little bit less than observant and giving herself a minor panic attack, mixing and mastering was finished a couple of weeks later.

Because of the personal nature of these songs, I chose to sing my own songs professionally for the first time.

AND I should mention - whosoever shall order “Black and White” shall receive extra goodies when “House of Gregory Chapter 2” comes out in October!

about

DiGregorio Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Descend the spiral staircase in front of you. Further, deeper, darker. Voices surround without source, some near, some far. Something moves in the darkness up ahead - is it human? Breathing halts. You cannot move. Hands pull at your arms and legs - but in this kind of darkness, you can’t see a thing.

DiGregorio was born from such a nightmare.
